    Industrial Automation Sales Manager (Los Angeles, California)

Primary Objectives & Key Activities:

  • Provide advanced technical sales and solution support to distribution partners and customers
  • Provide pre-sales technical review and approval to Sales Management
  • Detect and drive sales opportunities with system integrators
  • Provide quotations and training as needed to channel partners
  • Be recognized as a solution provider with a unique technology base
  • Develop strong relationships with channel partners and key OEM’s

Qualifications & Professional Knowledge:

  • BA/BS with a minimum of 7 years experience in technical sales with a focus in electro-mechanical systems
  • Superior demonstration, questioning, and presentation skills
  • Use of computers with Windows and PPT presentation development
  • Excellent communication and problem solving abilities
  • Professional understanding of multi axis systems, steppers, servos, drives, and control software a plus
  • New product rollout and channel management
  • Willingness to travel 50% of time

Electronics Technician (Carlsbad, California)

Compensation: 

  • Competitive Salary

Summary of Position: 

  • Lays out, builds simple actuator demonstration kits
  • Tests, troubleshoots and repairs electro-mechanical actuator systems applying principles and theories of electronics/circuitry

Education: 

  • AA in Electrical Engineering

Required Experience: 

  • Electronic Test Equipment - oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc.
  • Measurement tools such as calipers

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Set up test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of production model
  • Analyzes and interprets test data
  • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns and modifies circuitry/components and records effects on unit performance

Job Type:

  • Full-time, salaried/hourly

Work environment/ physical demands:

  • High Shop noise
  • Working near moving mechanical parts
  • Sitting for 6 hours or more at a time
  • Some standing, walking

Manufacturing Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

Designs and improves manufacturing process, procedures and production layouts for electromechanical assembly lines and CNC machining cells.  Incorporates inspection and test equipment and documentation for assembly and machining processes. Goal is fast delivery of 100% inspected high quality products at the lowest cost.  Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. 

Education: 

  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required

Required Experience: 

  • Minimum 4 years professional experience as manufacturing engineer
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel)

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing. 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000
  • CAD Software (Solidworks)
  • Basic electrical concepts
  • Familiarity with CNC programming

Job Type:

  • This is a full-time, salaried position
  • Some Saturdays required

Work environment/ physical demands:

This is a hands-on position that requires you to learn each product assembly in order to document and teach

Environment to include:

  • High Shop noise
  • Working near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally climb factory stairs
  • Standing, walking for 6 hours or more
  • Wearing eye, ear and face protection
  • Some sitting
  • Occasionally lifting up to 25 to 50lbs

Engineering Technician (New Hampshire)

Due to continued growth, SMAC Moving Coil Actuators is seeking an Engineering Technician for their New Hampshire Office. The ideal candidate will have a focus in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering working towards a B.S.E.E / B.S.M.E. degree. C Sharp, C+, Arduino, or robotics experience a plus! Electro-mechanical skills a plus!  Ability to work in a close team environment and wear “many hats” is a must. Excellent communication skills and the interest to work with a broad range of customers is required.

Expect also to travel throughout North America.
