Automation Controls Technician (Derry, New Hampshire)
 

Compensation: Very Competitive

Summary of Position:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Commissioning: Install and set up automated control systems and related equipment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on a variety of systems, including robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs). 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems in electrical, mechanical, network, and software aspects of automated systems. 
  • Upgrades and Modifications: Install upgrades and make modifications to existing control systems to improve performance and efficiency. 
  • Testing: Perform tests to ensure systems are operating correctly and safely. 
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with electrical circuits, digital devices, pneumatics, and mechanical systems. 
  • Programming: Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and computer programming languages. 
  • Instrumentation: Ability to use tools like multimeters, signal analyzers, and frequency counters. 
  • Troubleshooting: Broad problem-solving skills to diagnose and isolate issues across diverse system components. 
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and HMI systems. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues and providing insights on process improvements. 

Career Path & Education:
Education: Associate degrees or certificates in automation technician programs
Experience: Minimum of 2 years practical knowledge gained through internships or hands-on experience is highly valued and can sometimes outweigh formal education. 
Career Progression: Experienced technicians may advance to automation sales positions, taking on more complex design and management responsibilities.

Engineering Technician (Carlsbad, California)


Compensation: Very Competitive

Job Description: Troubleshoots, solves and improves assembly problems. Develops automated and semi-automated processes using SMAC products to improve productivity Supports application testing from SMAC sales. 

Future path -Learn to design connector boards for design group at a (hirer pay).

Education: Engineering Technician Certificate or related field.

Required Experience: 5 years’ work experience with Circuits, Basic Programming - machine language, Robotics - set up and maintenance.

Electronic Test Equipment: oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc
