Controllers and Amplifiers

SMAC supplies a range of single and multi-axis controllers together with stand alone amplifiers and stepper driven drivers. Controllers are programmed by mnemonic type command instructions via an RS-232 interface into NVRAM and allows code to be stored in non-volatile RAM, which is then used to enable movements to be made in three different modes. They require no supplementary software.


NEW LAC-15 / LAC-20 Single or Dual Axis Controller
Single or double axis brushless controller. Easy expansion to multi-axis. It comes with a built-in amplifier. Modes: Position Velocity Force Step/Direction 1 Port per axis RS232 up to 115200 bps CAN bus 2.0B up to 1MB/s

LAC-1 Single Axis Controller
The LAC-1 is a single axis controller with eight TTL I/O channels, three analog I/P channels and RS232 interface. It comes with a built-in amplifier. Modes: Position Velocity Force

LAC-25 Dual Axis Controller
Dual axis controller with four opto-isolated I/O channels, two analog I/O channels and RS232 interface. The LAC-25 can be used to control either a single linear and rotary actuator or alternatively two independent linear actuators. It is also necessary for grippers. It comes with a built-in amplifier. Modes: Position Velocity Force Gearing

LAC-45 Four Axis Controller
Independent or coordinated 4 axis motion, 8 I/P, 8 O/P, Opto-isolated general purpose I/O’s, 6 analog I/P, 4 analog O/P, RS232 Interface. It comes with a built-in amplifier. Modes: Position Velocity Force Gearing

LAB-5 Single Axis Brushless Controller
Single axis brushless controller, built-in amplifier. 4 input, 4 output, Opto-isolated general purpose I/O, 2 analog I/P, 2 analog O/P, RS-232 interface. Modes: Position Velocity or Continuous Force

LAA-5 Single Axis Amplifier
A stand alone single axis amplifier which can be used in conjunction with any proprietary controller. It provides +/-10 Volt I/P, 3 Amp O/P.

LAD-1 Smart Driver
The LAD1 is used to convert stepper inputs to 3 Amp servo output. This is particularly useful wherever a SMAC unit is retrofitted to or integrated into a stepper-driven machine. RS232 Interface.

MIO E-8/8 [MIO 16-R2] Channel I/O Expansion Module
Expansive I/O modual, 8 input, 8 output, Opto-isolated general purpose I/O. If more I/O channels are required, then the MIO can be linked to either the LAC1 or LAC25 to give 16 I/O channels. Please note: This replaces the MIO16-R2

MAAC4-7 Four Axis Controller
4 axis controller brushed/ brushless, integrated high end amplifier, advanced math capability, circular interpolation, teach path function, additional controllers can be added to work together on systems requiring more than 4 axes. Ethernet Interface, RS-232 Interface, 8 TTL I/O’s
